Top ten seeds for US Open, men and women

With the US Open starting on Monday August 26th, here’s an official list of the top 10 seeds for the tournament, for both men and women. There have been some major changes in the seeds, with players like Roger Federer falling, and, Marion Bartoli retiring from the game of tennis. As an avid tennis fan, these seeds were very interesting to see, as 2013 as been a crazy year as far as upsets go.

Here’s what the top ten men’s seeds look like:

1. Novak Djokovic

2. Rafael Nadal

3. Andy Murray

4. David Ferrer

5. Tomas Berdych

6. Juan Martin Del Potro

7. Roger Federer

8. Richard Gasquet

9. Stanislas Wawrinka

10. Milos Raonic

Personally, I think we could see a Nadal/Djokovic match up, but I realize it’s way to soon to predict the finals. We’ve see crazy things happen in the past few grand slam events. Any of these guys has the potential to reach the finals, and win them.

And for the ladies, here are your top ten seeds:

1. Serena Williams

2. Victoria Azarenka

3. Agnieszka Radwanska

4. Sara Errani

5. Li Na

6. Caroline Wozniacki

7. Petra Kvitova

8. Angelique Kerber

9. Jelena Jankovic

10. Roberta Vinci

One of the biggest favorites to win this event is Serena Williams, and with Maria Sharapova out of the tournament, her run to the title may be a lot easier.
