Anthony Pettis feels he is the best lightweight in the world

There is just one week left until the long awaited second meeting in the cage between UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson and challenger Anthony Pettis. In their previous meeting, which took place as the final fight in WEC history, Pettis stunned the fight world with his off-the-cage Showtime Kick that ultimately led to him taking the belt from Henderson.

Since coming to the UFC, Pettis has heard plenty of promises about getting his title shot and that opportunity is finally here.

In his pre-fight interview, Pettis really opens up about how much this fight means to him and how his confidence is riding high.

“This is it, my one chance at becoming the UFC lightweight champion,” Pettis said. “Everything I set out to do when I first started training, it’s here. Benson’s the guy in my way. I beat Bens Henderson once, I can do it again. I deserve to be at the top of the top.

“I’m gonna go out there and try to knock this dude out. I’m gonna try to go out there and try to finish this guy. And whether it’s just a right hand or a jump off the cage kick, I’m going to try to finish this guy. I don’t know if you believe in fate or destiny, but in my hometown, Ben Henderson, we have a lot of history together. This is going to be a good scrap. I’m the best in the world at 155.”

The highly anticipated rematch will take place on August 31 at the Bradley Center in Pettis’ hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As always, he will be going out to put on a show for the fan and put us all on our feet.
