When it rains it pours and for the Philadelphia Phillies, it’s been a Summer downpour.

The Phillies have dealt with a multitude of injuries this season and will have another on their hands as outfielder Domonic Brown had to leave tonight’s game with an injury to his right heel.

Per Jim Salisbury:

Dom Brown left with R heel soreness, according to Phillies

Initial reports from the Phillies television broadcast are that the injury isn’t overly serious and Brown shouldn’t need a trip to the disabled list, though, it’s likely he’ll miss the next few days until the soreness has dissipated.

The Phillies will obviously not attempt to rush him back if he doesn’t respond well to treatment given they’re all but mathematically eliminated from the playoff race.

Brown has emerged onto the scene this year with the promise so many had hoped for, slugging 27 home runs and driving in 80 RBI through 116 games. The former top prospect hadn’t been able to put it together in recent seasons, though, seemingly appeared to turn the corner this season.
