When Matt Barnes entered the NBA as a member of the Sacramento Kings, he was a relatively unknown kid who worked hard to find a role on one of the league’s worst teams.

As a Northern California native who worked his way off the bench, Barnes became a fan favorite in Sacramento – living the role of the hometown kid who find’s success with his ‘favorite’ team. It was the scenario you dream of as a little kid.

How quickly things have changed.

After being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers and eventually joining the Los Angeles Lakers, Barnes became somewhat of an on-court bully. It’s a role he’s seemed to embrace and now the Los Angeles Clippers forward had a message for his former Laker fans – stop living in the past.

Barnes, an obvious internet gangsta, decided to get into it with a Lakers fan on Instagram this past weekend where he informed his former fan base that they need to chill because the Clippers are the best team in Los Angeles:

Fuck that bitch Barnes. The team lead by the core of Chris Paul (who shouldn’t even be there in the first place) Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordan (who can’t do anything besides dunk) will not win a title with their little “lob city” crap. It’s only a matter of time until Jeanie takes over the franchise and returns LAL to powerhouse form. Clippers (or Floppers) aren’t winning shit for a long time. Mark these words, clippers will NOT reach the West Finals

I hear what you’re sayin Craig and agree. Clippers have not won a thing but they are talking a lot of mess. Hell at least win a title before opening your mouth.

Exactly. Barnes is talking a lot of trash for someone who has never been in a finals game.
