After the third NFL preseason game NFL teams have began  to make some cuts as they trim their rosters down to 53 men. The New England Patriots were the most recent to release players, five in total, but no one of any real importance.

List of players released by the New England Patriots:

  • Kamar Aiken, wide receiver
  • Brandon Jones, cornerback
  • Niko Koutouvides, linebacker
  • LeQuan Lewis, cornerback
  • Mike Zupancic, long snapper

Kamar Aiken is probably the most notable name on that roster and he is a spare part on the roster. Aiken has made three career appearances over his two season career and hasn’t made a single reception.

Last year with the Patriots Aiken did play in 14 games on special teams but only 9 snaps not with special teams.
