The Oakland Athletics are looking to make a push for the playoffs, but they may have to do so without Josh Reddick for an undisclosed period of time.

Reddick left the game in the sixth inning after injuring his wrist again, against the Baltimore Orioles in a 10-3 loss.

He was expected to be evaluated by team doctors and a decision by the Athletics were to be made by today. With the move they just made today, could indicate that Reddick will have to be placed on the disabled list. Reddick said after the game that it was 50-50 on whether he would have to go on the disabled list or not.

“I’m not going to be stupid about it again. We’ll see where we are tomorrow, re-evaluate and go from there.” Reddick told reporters after the loss against the Orioles.

The Athletics have recalled first baseman Daric Barton from Triple-A Sacramento.

Barton will be in the Athletic’s lineup today against the Detroit Tigers in the series opener in Detroit. He produced offensively at the minor league level.
