There have been rumblings that the Arizona Cardinals are looking to trade running back Ryan Williams, who they drafted in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft, and the ball carrier is aware of the rumors and speculation. However, he is not sweating it.

Williams will have a chance to show what he can do in Thursday’s preseason game and he plans on taking advantage of the opportunity. The trade rumors will not slow him down.

“If it doesn’t work here, it will work out somewhere else,” he said, via the Arizona Republic. “I know what I’m capable of doing. I’ve busted my tail harder than everybody in this building and this locker room right now, from January to May.

“Everybody in this building has seen me every day, from early in the morning to mid-afternoon, busting my tail so I can get back. If it (the trade) happens, it happens. I’ll make the best of it wherever I go. For now, I’m here and I’ll try to make the best of it here.”

Williams has been a bit of a disappointment since the team drafted him, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the team move him — especially after signing Rashard Mendenhall in the offseason.

Mendenhall will not play in Thursday’s game, but he will be ready for Week 1.

As for the trade talks, head coach Bruce Arians would not give a comment.
