Peyton Siva, now a member of the Detroit Pistons, helped lead the Louisville Cardinals to a 35-5 record and a championship last season. However, the guard says his former team will be even better in 2013-14, which is pretty terrifying.
Siva spoke about his predictions for the Cardinals to ESPN.com:
They really aren’t missing anything. The key for them will be chemistry, because talent-wise, there’s nothing to worry about.
They are loaded. Even more so than last year. I think they have all the pieces to win another championship.
Siva went on to say that fans should keep on eye out for point guard Chris Jones:
People haven’t seen Chris and a lot of people don’t know who he is, but he can shoot, can really score and is as quick — if not quicker than Russ. He’s got a bulldog mentality and loves to pick guys up full-court. He’s shorter than me, but he’s so strong and athletic and won’t be pushed around. He can go for 30 any night.
It’s looking like the Cardinals are going to be the team to beat next season. Unless, of course, they catch a bad break.
