The Russian Hockey Federation unveiled their uniforms for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi on Monday in a presentation at Sokolniki Ice Hall that included NHL star Alex Ovechkin. Alexandra Kapustina was also at the big event to show off the new look for the women’s team, as well.

After putting on the new uniforms for the big unveil, Ovechkin seemed to be a big fan of the new look and feel for Team Russia.

“It’s a nice jersey, comfortable,” Ovechkin said, via sports.ru (RMNB’s Fedor Fedin translated to comments). “Both options look good. I like the white. It’s very unusual.”

“The key is that the jersey should be light. Most importantly, we need the new uniform to be a winning one. The stars on the shoulders will remind us about how many times we won gold. We want more of these.”

There are eight of the stars that Ovechkin is talking about and he hopes to help the Russian team add more.

The uniforms for the Sochi Olympics were designed by Nike.

In case you can’t get a clear enough look at the uniform in the photo above, here are two additional photos from Championat.com that show off the full look:
