Anderson Silva has no respect for Floyd Mayweather

Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva is still one of the top fighters in mixed martial arts despite his brutal knockout loss in July and he recently appeared on Sway in the Morning to discuss a number of topics including the rematch with Weidman later this year.

While the meat and potatoes of the interview was to focus on the upcoming rematch at the UFC’s year-end show on December 28, Silva was also asked about boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr.

When Silva was asked about the boxing champ, he showed made it very clear that he has no respect for Floyd.

“Who?” Silva initially responded.

Callers then hit the lines to get Silva to expand on his thoughts of Mayweather and he simply responded with, “I no respect Mayweather. He no respect my sport.”

This is just the latest rift in the boxing vs. MMA battle that takes place among the fighters and fans, but this will get much more attention because of the star power of Silva and Mayweather. Of course, these two men will never meet in a fight, but it does show that there is still plenty of work from each sport for the fighters to gain mutual respect.
