Mississippi State’s helmets for season-opener (Photo)

The Mississippi State Bulldogs kick off their season this Saturday at Reliant Stadium in Houston with a game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. When the Bulldogs take the field for the game, they will be sporting a look that we haven’t seen from them before.

We don’t know just yet what the uniforms will look like, but we do know that they will be going with a special helmet for the game.

Head coach Dan Mullen unveiled the new helmets on Twitter:

We have seen this look before with the Boise State Broncos pro combat uniforms, but the chrome logo outline pops even more on the Bulldogs primary color. It’s a great look and one that the Bulldogs fans and players will certainly appreciate.

Hopefully the new helmets can bring some new confidence to the team and help them in the tough game against Oklahoma State, but we wouldn’t be holding our breath.

What do you think of the look? Is it something that you would like to see the team make a permanent look? Sound off in the comments section and let us know your thoughts and predictions for Saturday’s game.
