‘The Walking Dead’: Is the Governor’s reign coming to an end?

Yahoo! TV is reporting that David Morrissey, who plays the resident sociopath ‘The Governor’ on AMC’s The Walking Dead has landed the lead role in a new pilot for AMC. Does this mean that the reign of the Governor will soon be at its end?

The new pilot, entitled Line of Sight, surrounds the life of a National Transportation Safety Board investigator named Lewis Bernt, played by Morrissey, who survives a mysterious plane crash and follow on his quest to discover the origin of the accident.

According to TV Line, AMC is maintaining that Morrissey will be able to handle both the shooting of the new pilot episode for Line of Sight and the shooting of Season 4 of The Walking Dead.

As per TV Line’s sister site Deadline, this is what the network had to say on the matter.

We are huge fans of David Morrissey and are glad he’ll be doing double duty for AMC viewers through his work on The Walking Dead and our pilot for Line Of Sight, both of which are produced in Atlanta,”

The real question will come into play if Line of Sight’s pilot episode performs well. Should the series receive a full order, how will that affect the future of the Governor’s reign of sociopathic terror?

I guess we’ll just have to watch and find out.

Season 4 of AMC’s The Walking Dead premieres on Sunday, October 13th at 9 p.m.
