Tottenham Hotspur manager Andres Villas-Boas said that a Gareth Bale transfer to Real Madrid could happen “very, very soon.” On Friday, Gareth Bale reportedly said his goodbyes to his teammates.
Bale has not reported to training the last two days with Tottenham. It could be cause he was under the impression a deal was happening, or much like a hold out in the NFL he could be trying to force Tottenham’s hand and push through the transfer. His manager wasn’t thrilled with this decision.
“The fact that he hasn’t turned up, I don’t think it’s the correct behaviour,” Andres Villas-Boas said, via ESPN FC. “It’s a position of pressure and a statement from the player. It’s a position they chose to take. It’s up to the club now to decide if it’s a fineable offense. It’s up to the club to decide whether or not it’s a breach of club rules. I’ve given my opinion on it, it’s up to them to decide whether they act on it or not.
“It is a dream move for him but I think in the end this could have happened in a different way.”
Tottenham has been very active in the transfer window bringing in a plethora of players. Tottenham could fine Bale before he leaves.
