South Carolina RB Mike Davis busts off 75-yard touchdown (GIF)

The North Carolina Tar Heels were hanging in the game with the No. 6 South Carolina Gamecocks, but a change of momentum in the third-quarter allowed South Carolina to begin pulling away.

North Carolina had a chance to close the gap to six-points and make it a one possession game. Instead, the Tar Heels were held to a field goal and South Carolina answered with a 75-yard touchdown run from starting running back Mike Davis.

The 75-yard touchdown run was the longest of Davis’ career and it took his total for the day to 106 yards. That also marks the first time in Davis’ Gamecocks career that he has gone over 100 yards in a game.

For South Carolina, it looks clear that the man filling in the shoes of Marcus Lattimore is more than capable of leading the South Carolina offense on the ground. This is just the beginning of what should be a great season for Davis and the Gamecocks.
