Michael Beasley keeps wasting opportunities
By Dante Nelson
It’s time somebody just slap some sense into Michael Beasley. He’s been in some sort of legal trouble just about every year of his career. It’s safe to say he’s a bust. He’s been on multiple teams and nothing works for him. Charles Barkley said it best this past season while on an Inside the NBA show. I can’t quote him but he said that, after a few seasons, you know what you’re gonna get out of a player for the rest of their career. And Beasley’s been around since the 08-09 season. Yes, he’s still young but has showed barely any growth on the court while his off the court troubles grow and grow.
You hate to give up on a young talent. You hate to waste potential. In Beasley’s case, he’s not living up to potential. There are other players that could step in, with less drama and even less money, and do his job. Mike needs to get himself together to avoid being another lottery disappointment. I’d hate to see where he is 10 years from now on this current pace.
We’ll see if another team takes on the challenge. It could be a team willing to take a risk to tap into what people thought was super star potential. Or maybe teams do accept him as where he is and he’ll be a role player for the rest of his career on a good team.
Either way, Micheal Beasley is wasting away his opportunities.
