For the second-straight year, a promising season for New York giants running back Andre Brown has been potentially derailed by a fractured leg.

However, Brown says this latest injury, which he suffered in Thursday night’s preseason game against the New England Patriots, is “a little crack” in his leg and that he can return this season:

"“Spirits are high, I’m positive,” Brown said. “And I’m looking forward to coming back this season. It’s not as serious as it was last year.”“It is not that bad of a break. Just a little tiny, a little crack in it. We still got to do more tests on it. Last time when I broke it we knew immediately what the problem was. I didn’t feel any pop or anything like that. That is definitely a positive. I have been here before and I know. They would let me know if it was [more] serious than it was, but it is not.”"

He also said he will not need surgery. Still, this is a tough break for a promising young player.
