NFL teams have to trim their preseason camp rosters down to the final 53 man roster for the NFL season by 6 pm ET today. That will have teams releasing players throughout the day.

The Detroit Lions have waived:

  • Corey Fuller, wide receiver
  • Jon Morgan, linebacker
  • Darren Keyton, offensive lineman

They’re all practice squad eligible. Fuller will be a bigger priority for the Lions to try and hold onto after they drafted him in the sixth round of this year’s draft. The Lions could use some wide receiver depth and insurance too. Ryan Broyles has suffered some injury setbacks and behind Calvin Johnson there is a lack of receiver talent.

Last season Calvin Johnson led in receiving, followed by two tight ends and a running back. Wide receiver Titus Young was the receiver with the second most yards, but he was the fifth overall receiver on the roster.
