With the deadline for teams to cut to their 53-man roster just hours away, hundreds of players around the league are learning that they will be joining the unemployment line.
Unfortunately for Cleveland Browns wide receiver David Nelson, he is one of those players that has been handed his walking papers according to multiple reports.
Nelson had a bit of a breakout year in 2011 when he was with the Buffalo Bills, but a torn ACL in 2012 ruined any chances he had to become a top option in Buffalo. As a result, he left the team to join the Browns in the offseason this year.
The Browns signed Nelson on April 8, but just over four months later his time with the team has come to an end.
There is definitely talent to be had from the former undrafted free agent out of the University of Florida, but he will need to sit back and see if any team will come calling his name.
After a few weeks in to the season when injuries start to take their toll, you would have to expect someone will kick the tires on Nelson.
