Ohio State Buckeyes fans got a bit of a scare on Saturday afternoon when starting linebacker Ryan Shazier was carted off the field early in the game against Buffalo. While you never like to see a player getting carted off of the playing field, the good news is that there does not appear to be a serious injury.
According to ESPN’s broadcast, Shazier is just dealing with cramps.
He was also having some cramping issues earlier in the game, so this would make sense. He was likely taken to the locker room to receive plenty of fluids so he can re-hydrate and get back in the game.
Shazier should be back on the field for the second half.
Throughout opening weekend, there have been plenty of players dealing with cramping issues.
The image that sticks in all of our heads is Vanderbilt wide receiver Jordan Matthews who received an IV and fluids after cramping, only to come back on the field and puke out all of the fluids that he had just received.
