Portland Trail Blazers LaMarcus Aldridge says he was frustrated, but never asked for trade

A few months ago during the 2013 NBA Draft, rumors broke that Portland Trail Blazers power forward LaMarcus Aldridge wanted out of the City of Roses.

Aldridge of course denied such, suggesting that he never asked for a trade.

It was a sentiment he repeated to Yahoo Sports’ Marc J. Spears today, saying that while he never went to management and asked to be traded, he did admit frustration.

Per Spears:

Blazers @aldridge_12 tells Yahoo Sports he was extremely frustrated with last season but not to the point where he asked for a trade.

Believable? Hard to tell.

Either way, I’m guessing Aldridge is more than happy he stayed in Portland as the Blazers have put together quite a promising core of youthful talent that could potentially challenge for a playoff spot in a less than impressive Western Conference this season.

With another year of experience for 2012-13 Rookie of the Year award winner Damian Lillard and the addition of C.J. McCollum, the Blazers looked primed for the future.
