The college football season has just gotten under way and many games to be played to determine who is eligible for the Heisman trophy. But after the performance of quarterback Tajh Boyd of Clemson Saturday night against Georgia, I am already starting to add him to the top of the list.
Boyd finished the game with a 168.6 quarterback rating, which is off the charts, and a 60% completion rate passing for 270 yards on 18 out of 30. Also recorded 3 passing touchdowns to go along with 2 running scores, all of this is nothing short of superman playing in a college football game.
In my opinion by far one of the best top quarterback performances of the great opening weekend, and I am sure a case can be made for just about every top prospect. But after I saw that game where Boyd literally took over the game, he looked like all the part Heisman winner to me.
Let’s see if he can continue to have amazing performances like this against good competition, which will be the greatest marker for the award.
Will he be able to out due Johnny Manziel ,Teddy Bridgewater, and AJ McCarron? With competition of schedule I think Boyd cannot be over looked so far.
