Buster Skrine wins Cleveland Browns starting CB spot

The Cleveland Browns are solidifying their depth chart after the final roster cuts have been made and the starting line up on the defensive ball has been completed now that Buster Skrine has locked up his spot in the line up.

With a strong preseason and camp, Skrine was able to take home the starting right cornerback job opposite Joe Haden according to head coach Rob Chudzinski.

“Right now, it would be Buster Skrine,” Chudzinski said. “Chris Owens has done a really good job this camp. We feel like we have two guys who can play and alternate. As much as people are in sub personnel right now, you need three anyhow. Both of those guys are going to be big parts of what we do.”

Skrine was the favorite going in to camp, so it was great to see him step up and put on the performance that he needed to secure the job.

With an improved defense heading in to the season, the Browns are on the verge of being a serious threat in the AFC North.
