While Max Papis may not have the fan following of a Jeff Gordon or the resume of Jimmy Johnson, he’s still a relatively well known driver who not only participates in Nascar, but also a handful of other race types.

Speaking of which, Papis was taking part in the MoSport Truck race this weekend, part of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series where he was somewhat attacked by a random woman.

Or maybe she wasn’t as random as we think.

Papis’ truck was sent into the grass by a fellow driver during the race, a move which probably didn’t sit well with many as Papis, who had the outside line, tried to cut off the inside line result in the crash.

So while he was giving his side of the story to Fox Sports, a woman (girlfriend? wife? scorned groupie?) walked up to him during the interview, started pushing him around, said a few choice words and then BAM – five fingers to the face.

You can watch the full video here, which includes the crash festivities, but if you’re looking for the slap you’ll need to scroll to the final minute or so:

Update: As expected the ‘random’ woman was the girlfriend of Mike Skeen.
