It’s been a pretty active few days for Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel.
After learning of his (hilarious) suspension, Manziel went on to obliterate the Rice defense this weekend. That lead to a handful of people chiming in on his performance, including an NFL scout who said he believes Manziel is the quarterback equivalent to Terrell Owens.
One scout called Manziel the “Terrell Owens of college quarterbacks.” So, there’s that.
I’m not exactly sure if that’s a compliment or a dig.
I mean, Owens was a disgustingly good player when he was on the field, but a complete problem child as well. So, in essence I understand what the scout was going for but it’s hard to suggest Manziel will be as much of a problem as Owens was in the locker room without ever playing an NFL game.
Owens strikes me more of a guy who feeds off the public eye while Manziel just comes across a bit more arrogant, though, not nearly as hungry for the attention.
Agree with the scouts take? Or think he’s off base?
