Orlando Magic, Hedo Turkoglu working on contract buyout

The Orlando Magic are in serious talks with veteran small forward Hedo Turkoglu on a contract buyout, according to Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel.

While Turkoglu is on the books for $12 million next season, Schmitz reports that only $6 million of that is guaranteed. The 34-year-old Turkoglu, now in his 13th NBA season, averaged just 2.9 poits and 2.4 rebounds in just 11 games last season. He was also suspended 20 games in the 2012-13 season for the use of anabolic steroids.

If Turkoglu is bought out by the Magic, he could end up returning to his native Turkey. Can Pelister of TrendBasket.com reports that Turkoglu has already received a $3.4 contract offer from Istanbul-based Fenerbahce Ulker of the EuroLeague and says talks are ongoing.
