I’m certainly not trying to bash on Penn State given everything they’ve gone through the past year or so, but you’d think that they’d do their best to keep their name out of weird situations, no?

Apparently not.

While I’m sure the marketing department had good intentions when they released a commemorative t-shirt to celebrate their victory over Syracuse this weekend, well, they made a t-shirt to celebrate a victory over Syracuse.

The same Syracuse who went 8-5 last season.

The same Syracuse who isn’t ranked anywhere near the Top 25.

The same Syracuse who just about beat Penn State this weekend, even though the Lions were able to preserve the victory.

In fact, I’ve never seen a school do something like this outside of a divisional championship or something greater. That’s not to say it hasn’t been done before, but it would certainly be news to me.

I’d understand if it was a Division III school who knocked off a top five team or something, but the once proud Penn State making a celebratory t-shirt because they defeated Syracuse?
