Although Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell missed some important practice and preseason time with an injury, I’m sure Bell and the team will take it considering the progress he’s made recovering from his foot injury.

Bell, who many felt suffered a Lisfranic injury, was deemed to miss around two months of action in a best case scenario, but positive reports after positive reports have leaked in the past few weeks and now Bell himself says he is aiming to return by Week 2.

Per Jim Wexell:

"Le’Veon Bell: I’m goinng to try to be back for week 2 but I’m not making promises."

Bell wasn’t expected back until Week 6 at the earliest when he originally suffered the injury, though head coach Mike Tomlin hinted Bell could return sooner than that about a week ago – some even suggested Week 3, though that appeared optimistic at the time.

However, it apparently wasn’t as now Week 3 seems almost like a certain if Bell isn’t able to take the field Week 2, as he hopes.

Felix Jones is expected to draw the start for Week 1 while Bell is out, though, the Steelers yesterday said they plan to use a committee approach until Bell returns.
