Although the San Francisco 49ers have spent a good portion of their preseason scouring the free agent pool and hitting the waiver wire, looking for wide reciever help, they’ll be getting some come Week 6 apparently as Mario Manningham is expected to return.

Per CSN Bay Area:

"The 49ers currently have five receivers on their roster, too: Anquan Boldin, Kyle Williams, Quinton Patton, Marlon Moore and Jon Baldwin. The team expects Mario Manningham (knee) back in action shortly after Week 6. Michael Crabtree (Achilles) has a chance to return later in the season. Manningham and Crabtree are on reserve/physically unable to perform, making them ineligible to practice or play for the first six weeks of the regular season."

Manningham, who signed with the 49ers for the 2012 season has been somewhat of a disappointment, though, much of that stemming from injuries as the former New York Giants wideout tore both his ACL and PCL against the Seattle Seahawks last year.

The six year NFL veteran should be back once he is eligible to come off the PUP list.
