The Associated Press released their first regular season poll following the opening weekend of college football. There was some movement in the top of the poll. Oregon leapfrogged Ohio State to take the number two spot. Georgia dropped from 5 to 11 after losing to Clemson. The Tigers moved up from 8 to 4 after beating Georgia at home, they also picked up a first place vote. Georgia had a first place vote last week, the other 59 first place votes stayed with Alabama and Ohio State.
Stanford was bumped from 4 to 5 to make room for Clemson. LSU moved to 9 leap frogging Florida State as they moved up as Georgia dropped. Florida dropped from 10 to 12 as well.
13 to 17 stayed the same.
Nebraska dropped from 18 to 22. UCLA moved from 21 to 18 and Northwestern followed moving from 22 to 19. TCU dropped from 20 to 24 after losing to LSU.
Boise State was 19th and Oregon State was ranked 25th but both teams dropped out of the poll. Wisconsin inched up from 23 to 21. Baylor made the poll at 23 and Washington entered the polls at 20th.
