FSU's Jameis Winston would've gone to Texas if he got an offer

Florida State Seminoles demolished Pittsburgh in the season opener behind the arm of Jameis Winston. That win might not have ever happened if Winston had gotten an offer from the University of Texas. In their season opener Winston completed 25 of 27 passes for 356 yards (13.2 avg) and 4 touchdowns, as the Seminoles rolled to a 41-13 victory.

Somewhere I bet Mack Brown is kicking himself or blaming and firing a scout.

The Longhorns have struggled to find consistent quarterback play since Colt McCoy went to the NFL. Winston looks like the kinda of player that could have rejuvenated the program in a Vince Young type mold. Longhorns remember what happened with Vince Young at quarterback right?

The Dallas Morning News said that “Winston was rated as a five-star prospect and ranked the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback in the nation by Rivals.com in the Class of 2012.”
