Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said that last year’s number one draft pick cornerback Morris Claiborne and guard Ron Leary will be ready for the season opener against the New York Giants.

The Dallas Cowboys focused a lot of attention on their secondary when they drafted Claiborne and signed free agent Brandon Carr in the same offseason.

The Dallas Cowboys need Ron Leary back. The entire Dallas Cowboys training camp has been marred by injuries to the interior of the offensive line. They signed former New York Jets guard Brandon Moore who retired a day later. They pursued former New England Patriots guard Brian Waters to no avail. At one point they moved right tackle Doug Free to guard for the first time in his life.

The reviews of Free at guard were pretty solid. He doesn’t fit the mold of a guard lacking the power and being more of a finesse blocker but him and tackle Jeremy Parnell on the right side were an intriguing duo.
