Miami Heat superstar (and face of the NBA, really) LeBron James never went to college, but had he opted to do so, he reportedly would have chosen to attend Ohio State University.

Playing off that, Ohio State, who was showing off their new facility digs to the media today, decided to put up a LeBron James nameplate in their locker room.

It’s not specially placed or anything like that – right between a blank spot and Amir Williams.

So what’s it for? Well, two things, actually. It’s mostly for potential recruits – just the lure (I guess) of knowing you could be playing where LeBron most likely would have played. I guess somebody in the Athletic department things that might sway some kid. But in addition to that, the locker will feature LeBron shoes, jerseys, etc. Ohio State of course is one of a few schools who wear James’ Nike line, thus what better way to combine the two for a marketing ploy.
