If you think players on the Alabama Crimson Tide are getting all psyched to play Texas A&M and Johnny Manziel in two weeks, well, you don’t know much about a Nick Saban football team.
After ahnilating the Virginia Tech Hokies last weekend, Alabama has the week off before their big revenge game against the Aggies. However, according to wide receiver/return specialist Christion Jones — who returned both a kick and a punt for touchdowns against Virginia Tech to go with one receiving touchdown — the team will be using their bye week to work on good ol’ fundamentals.
I think you guys (in the media) build it up to be something. It’s just a game to me, to our guys. Whether it’s about (Texas A&M quarterback) Johnny Manziel or not, we’re just going out to play another game. We get this bye week to go back to our fundamentals, and after that week, that’s when we’re going to get involved with Texas A&M. Until then, we’re going to focus on our fundamentals and get back to the basics (TuscaloosaNews.com).
While members of the Crimson Tide are likely to remain level-headed, us fans can start getting pumped up for one of the marquee games of the 2013 college football season. The Crimson Tide and the Aggies will meet in College Station on Sept. 14.
