2014 PG Tyler Ulis trims list. Commitment could be on the horizon

Marian Catholic High (Ill.) point guard Tyler Ulis is one of the top prospects remaining on the board in the hoops class of 2014, and he may be winding down his recruitment in hopes of making a decision soon as to where he’ll commit to. Ulis is a top-30 prospect nationally and one of the top players left in a stacked 2014 class.

The recruitment of Ulis took a drastic turn recently when he received a scholarship offer from the University of Kentucky basketball team. Head coach John Calipari offered Ulis last month during an unofficial visit to Lexington, and he’ll return for an official visit on Monday. He is also considering Iowa, where he visited officially over the weekend, and Michigan State, where he’ll visit officially on Friday. He’ll go straight from his visit at MSU to UK.

This news comes unsurprisingly after Ulis cut his list to Iowa, MSU, and UK.

Don’t let his 4-star rating turn you off. He’s as good as any point guard recruit there is in the 2014 class, and all you need to do is watch this highlight reel and you’ll think just as much:

Ulis is expected to commit sometime after his final official visit to UK, and that certainly bodes well for Calipari and the Cats.
