Chris Mullin will join Sacramento Kings front office

NBA Hall of Famer Chris Mullin will offically join the Sacramento Kings front office, according to ESPN’s Marc Stein.

Mullin has served as a senior adviser over the summer for new General Manager Pete D’Alessandro, but Stein reports he will take on a more prominent role within the organization. D’Alessandro once served under Mullin back when Mullin was General Manager of the Golden State Warriors.

While Mullin was never introduced as a official employee, the move is not a surprising one. Mullin was consulted by Kings majority owner Vivek Ranadive back when the team were looking to hire a new GM and apparently recommended D’Alessandro for the position. He worked with the Sacramento staff during the draft and over the summer league.
