Brian Waters stepped on the practice field for the Dallas Cowboys for the first time today. The Cowboys have Waters practicing at right guard with the second team offense. The guard they were waiting to get healthy, Ron Leary, is at left guard with the first team offense. Mackenzey Bernadeau, who signed with the team last year as a free agent, is playing right guard with the first team offense.

Waters said he’d need a week to get read and that suggests that come week 2 of the NFL season, Waters will replace Bernadeau in the starting line.

That suggests the Cowboys starting line up will be Tyron Smith at left tackle, and Doug Free at right tackle. Ron Leary at left guard and Brian Waters at right guard and first round draft pick Travis Frederick at center.

The group might not get much time to work on continuity but they’ll at least be healthy, and that is a start.
