According to ESPN Chicago, former Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher admitted to players faking injuries during games to slow down offenses.

Well duh? Every team in the league has been doing this for as long as I can remember. You are late in the game and an offense has picked up momentum and you don’t want to waste a time out, what do you do? You either tell a guy to take a dive or they are smart and do it themselves.

The league has cracked down on things like this and started to hand out fines for players who faked injuries. It’s a pretty smart move considering it slows down the game and could change the outcome. As a fan of the league I frown upon the decision to fake an injury.

Urlacher told ESPN Chicago that during his tenure with the Bears, the team just like others would fake injuries.

Yeah, we know big guy, we know.
