It was expected that UFC light heavyweight contender Glover Teixeira would be next in line with a win at Wednesday night’s UFC Fight Night 28, and that is exactly what went down after Teixeira was able to stop former The Ultimate Fighter winner Ryan Bader with strikes in Round 1.
The win over Bader was Teixeira’s twentieth in a row and now he will wait to see who is next opponent will be.
Current UFC champion Jon Jones faces off against Alexander Gustafsson later this month in the main event at UFC 165. Once that bout is completed, Teixeira will learn his next opponent and a potential timetable for his title shot.
For the past few years many have been on the Teixeira bandwagon and touted him as a future champion, so he will finally get the opportunity to prove all of his supporters right.
Teixeira presents an interesting match up against either of his potential opponents, but the real question is how he will be able to deal with their length and speed. We will find out in a matter of months.
