The New England Patriots are set to take on the Buffalo Bills in their season-opener on Sunday afternoon and it is set up to be a big day for the offense –especially their rushing attack. One man that will shoulder plenty of the responsibility is running back Stevan Ridley, who the Patriots could turn in to a workhorse back.

According to the Boston Herald, Ridley and the backfield are expected to “shoulder a bit more pressure to perform this season.”

With the loss of many of Tom Brady’s favorite targets on the outside, it will be as important as ever for the running game to succeed in New England, so we will have to see how it all plays out.

As things look on paper, Ridley could be set up for a huge season and he could become one of the fantasy football stars of 2013.

It sounds weird to rely on a Patriots running back in both your fantasy league and real life, but that seems to be the plan of attack for New England moving forward.
