Pablo Sandoval hits three home runs against San Diego Padres

The San Francisco Giants were able to avoid a sweep against the San Diego Padres, and they were able to do it thanks to Pablo Sandoval finally finding his home run groove at Petco Park.

Sandoval launched three home runs in the game, leading the Giants to a 13-5 win over the Padres. Each home run was against a different pitcher.

The third baseman hit a two-run shot in the fifth inning off of Brad Brach, a solo shot off of Brad Boxberger in the eighth inning, and a three-run bomb in the ninth inning off of Dale Thayer. There were two outs when Sandoval hit the first and final home runs.

That boosts Sandoval’s home run total to 13 on the season, a total that many Major League Baseball analysts and Giants fans expected to be higher this season.

Just for good measure, Sandoval had an additional hit on the night, and went 4 for 5 overall.

The Giants may not be able to defend their World Series title this season, but at least they can have some memorable moments down the stretch. Against the Padres.
