Recent rumors have surfaced that former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans could be facing off against his FOX Sports 1 co-worker Chael Sonnen and it looks like the fight is going to happen.
Evans said on Alchemist Radio that he and Sonnen both want to the fight to happen and that it is something that we will likely be seeing in a few months.
“We’re still talking about it, but it’s definitely something the UFC wants,” Evans said, via Bloody Elbow. “It’s something that we want to do well. If it does happen it will happen on November 16th. Hopefully it’ll be in the co-main event slot. I definitely think its co-main event worthy.”
It would certainly be co-main event worthy and would add a nice co-feature to the UFC 167 pay-per view that is headlined by a welterweight title between Georges St-Pierre and Johny Hendricks.
Most fans wanted to see Sonnen take on one of his Brazilian rivals, but this is a great consolation prize.
