Toronto Blue Jays shut down Jose Bautista for the season

In a not so surprising move, the Toronto Blue Jays have decided to shut Jose Bautista down for the remainder of the season.

The Toronto Blue Jays are currently in last place so it’s pretty smart of them not to rush Bautista back to the lineup since they have nothing to play for.

The right handed power hitter sustained a left hip bone bruise in August and aggravated it on the 20th when he tried to play through the injury. Which really isn’t smart to do but he’s a grown man, at least we know his heart is still in the game.

Bautista will end this season with a beautiful .259/.358/.498 batting line with 28 home runs and 73 RBI’s in 118 games. Joey Bats improved his numbers from last season, hitting only 27 home runs and 65 RBI’s through 92 games.

His best two seasons came back in 2010-2011 where he came out of no where hitting 54 home runs with 124 one season then 43 home runs and 201 RBI’s the next.

He will look to improve his numbers next season and watch from the dugout for the remainder of this season.
