Doc Rivers "very disappointed", says Danny Ainge lied about how he left Celtics

New Los Angeles Clippers Head Coach Doc Rivers had a messy departure from the Boston Celtics this summer, and told a Boston radio station Thursday morning that Celtics General Manage Danny Ainge lied about the move to Los Angeles being a sole decision on Rivers’ part.

Ainge was quoted during the press conference as saying Los Angeles was  “…not a place that I chose for him to go or a place that I wanted him to be.”

“Honestly, I was very disappointed in that part of Danny’s press conference, ” Rivers told The Dennis & Callahan Show on Thursday morning. “Other than that, Danny and I have no issues. Danny knows, just like I know, that that’s not true.”

Rivers maintains that when the Celtics released him from the three years left on his contract that it was part of a larger organizational overhaul.
