Fantasy Football 2013: Darren McFadden feels he owes a big season to Raiders

Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden has always had the talent, but he has failed to put it all together or stay completely healthy since joining the NFL. This year, it looks like we have no reason to believe that will be any different.

McFadden will be running behind one of the worst offensive lines in the league with no real quarterback threat, so teams can stack the box and put him on his backside over and over again throughout the game.

However, McFadden does appear to have some added motivation this season and he is hoping to put together a great season for the organization.

“The organization has shown tremendous faith in me, and I’m very grateful for that,” McFadden said, via Scott Bair of ‘I feel like it shows real faith in me and in this offense as a whole. They clearly have confidence in my ability and what I can do in a downhill running scheme. I’m so excited to be able to run in this type of offense again. I feel like I owe the Raiders a fantastic season.”

If McFadden can put together the “fantastic season” that he feels he owes the team, his fantasy owners will be happy as well.

McFadden was worth a look in the late second and third rounds of your fantasy draft, so he shouldn’t be your go-to running back, but that won’t stop you from having a tough decision on your hands if he decides to tear it up.

For those looking to bolster their running backs, now could be the time to make a trade for McFadden and try to get him relatively cheap.
