The 2013-14 NFL season kicks off tonight with a big match up between the Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos, but there is another AFC favorite that will need to wait until Sunday to take the field for their season-opener — the New England Patriots.

Heading in to the season, New England is the clear favorite to take home the AFC East title, which is no surprise considering the question marks surrounding the other teams in the division. The only contender that could really emerge and shock the Patriots would be the Miami Dolphins, whose free agent spending spree put the team back on the map.

Here are the odds heading in to the season for the AFC East:

New England Patriots 1/3
Miami Dolphins 13/4
Buffalo Bills 9/1
New York Jets 14/1

It is really a no-brainer to consider the Patriots the clear favorite in the AFC East, so Vegas got it right with this one.
