I’m not sure if it’s just me, but there seems to be a ton of issues when team’s send out releases to their season ticket holders.
Either they say something they shouldn’t (yes, I’m looking at you Atlanta Hawks) which results in the team getting fined for tampering or in the case of the NHL’s Nashville Predators, they make an innocent typo which leads to a new team nickname.
That’s exactly what happened when the Predators sent out a release to their fans, inviting them to an event next week.
But instead of calling themselves the ‘Preds’ as they often do, the typo read ‘Perds’.
The team quickly issues another e-mail apologizing for the incident, but it was too late. The ‘Perds’ movement sparked like wildfire on the interwebz and has now taken over, resulting in ‘Go Perds’ gear which includes t-shirt’s and hoodies.
Even more hilarious though was that the second dispatched e-mailed, which apologized for the misspelling was, you guessed it, full of misspellings.
Rough day for somebody.
