Auburn safety Robenson Therezie named Jim Thorpe Defensive Back of the Week

After an incredible Week 1, Auburn safety Robenson Therezie was named the Jim Thorpe Defensive Back of the Week, according to a release from the honor’s association Friday.

In the Tigers’ 31-24 win against visiting Washington State, the junior recorded seven tackles and two interceptions, including a drive-ending interception nabbed in his own end zone in the fourth quarter.

The last Auburn player to have two interceptions in one game was linebacker Josh Bynes – who had two against Arkansas in 2010.

Arizona safety Tra’Mayne Bondurant, Wyoming safety Marqueston Huff and Western Michigan cornerback Donald Celiscar each were named as a honorable mention player by the Jim Thorpe Association for Week 1.
