Christiano Ronaldo scores first career hat trick for Portugal

Cristiano Ronaldo recorded his first career hat trick playing for the Portuguese National team in their game against Northern Ireland this afternoon.

After an opening goal by Bruno Alves in the 21′st minute, Northern Ireland scored consecutive goals including one just after the second half had resumed. That was when Ronaldo took over.

He scored two consecutive goals from headers in the 68th and 77th minute to retake the lead. Then adding a little bit of insurance, his free kick found the back of the net in the 83rd minute. It was quite a second half for the international superstar. Judging that he had done his due diligence for the day, Paulo Bento Portugal’s manager sent in a sub for Ronaldo in the 90′th minute, much to the relief of the Northern Ireland squad.

It looks like Portugal is well on their way to another victory.
