Valspar to sponsor PGA tournamanet

The PGA and Valspar are joining forces for the Tampa Bay Tournament. Valspar will be sponsoring the tourney as well as being the official paint supplier for the PGA.

The PGA’s previous sponsor for the event was Pinellas Park’s Transitions Optical. They were sponsoring for four years. That ended two years ago. So, last year, the PGA didn’t have a title sponsor. While the deal with Transitions was reported at $7 million per year, we have yet to know how much Valspar will be handing over.

In other news of partnerships, the local broadcasting will be hosted on BB&T Corp. The PGA and BBT have just entered a four year deal themselves.

I’m just trying to figure out what paint and golf have in common.
