The Atlanta Braves twitter site is reporting that left handed reliever Scott Downs has a fracture on the ring finger of his right hand.
He will get a splint and be able to pitch when he is able, which is arguably the most obvious thing that they could have told us in the whole tweet.
Downs has a right ring finger fracture – non displaced (tip). Finger will be placed in a splint and he can pitch when he is able.

Downs has pitched well for Atlanta since coming over in a trade at the end of July. He has allowed only 3 earned runs in his 17 appearances with Atlanta. Atlanta fans have to be hoping that he is able to continue to pitch or at the very least makes a speedy recovery as the lefty specialist figures to make a contribution out of the bullpen for the Braves during their stretch run.
